A joint exhibition with David R J Stent, Objects of Conjecture was a collaborative work which explored orders of dependence between an exhibition of three-dimensional sculpture and an associated body of writing. Part of this concern was addressed with reference to the convention of the exhibition hand-out - a supplement that serves to contextualise the work and provide information that can be taken away. Here that convention is both acknowledged and subverted, with an extended essay, ‘Lumpen Structures’, providing speculative commentary on the sculptures as well as becoming implicated in the exhibition itself.
