Anti Mass, PuntWG, Amsterdam, 2018
Anti Mass presents a series of paintings that test the boundaries of composition and sound art practice. Referring to key compositional strategies such as placement, interrelation, and arrangement, the work transposes the tropes of musical notation and instruction into the language of image making. The exhibition explores the role of the composer, the site of performance, and the interaction of viewer. It brings into question the role of the performer and the activation of installation-as-score.
